A New Morning

Wednesday November 5, 2008

Categories: Health, Joy, Prayers
Congratulations are in store for all of us this morning.  We're alive and well today, even thriving, and there's work to be done!

This is the morning of hope's survival.  We are ripe with the possibility of real change.  Love is in the air, and it's filled with potential.  We realize God is again with us, as always.

In the U.S., we have a new President-elect.  We all came together and said, "yes, we can."

Now, we can say, yes we will - by the grace of God.

It's a whole new day, a true new start.  Out with the old ways and in with new modes of being. Even more, today we can together have a whole new belief that all is well once again, and we will be well.

Like the 15th-century English mystic, Blessed Juliana of Norwich, wrote, "All will be well, and all will be well, and all will be very well." Blessed Juliana was expressing a new found confidence and trust in God. She had let her anxieties go; she had switched off the mental static.  She had found peace, with God at the center of her being.

So too, will we now find the peace, hope and spirit of possibility that connection with God offers.  We will take that Holy Presence with us into our lives this morning.  Not just because we have a new president that is committed to change and the unity of all, but that we never lost hope, and we worked hard for the possibility of this new morning.

Egidia -

I beg to differ with you about McCain's humility. How humble is it for him to repeatedly be so dismissive of Obama when meeting with him in debates. He didn't even want to debate Senator Obama, and tried to use the financial crisis to claim that he was returning to DC to get the bailout passed. He acted as if he was going to single handedly solve the problem. He repeatedly talks about what he did 40 years ago in Vietnam, but what has he done lately. He (McCain) voted against giving more medical benefits to veterans (Isn't he a former veteran? Why would he vote against our veterans interests?). He also voted against giving them more college benefits.

Obama showed his humility so many times. I can't believe you didn't notice. The most recent one was after winning the election. HE emailed and texted his supporters that (direct quote to follow): "We just made history. All of this happened because you gave your time, talent and passion to the campaign. All of this happened because of you. Thanks." That message is in my phone.

When McCain ran a campaign of lies and innuendo Obama stuck to the issues. He had to spend so much of his time defending himself against attacks from McCain and Republican PAC's, and still he stayed graceful, even when it got the hottest.

I hope those who didn't vote for Obama will keep their eyes and minds open and look to the future, and see if the country doesn't turn around for the better under his leadership. God bless all those who serve in every capacity, be it military, political, teaching, medical, scientific, all who serve. God bless the USA and the rest of the world as we go forward.

Dear all,

The end of the American election is to tell us that God - who is one with Christ - still rules in the affairs of men.

Dear Jacqui, for the amendment 2, we should believe on what Jesus says all the time because we were created by Him. I pray that you get to understand it one day.

We celebrate Obama because God appointed him and he is fighting for a vision that he strongly believes in. I congratulate you Obama, well done Mc Cain for your courage. We should all understand that in a race, there is only a winner who is Obama, the candidate choosen by Americans. Let us all respect their voice and let die our selfish desires. May God really bless the Worl and may our understanding be enlightened.

Blessed is he who believe and has not seen. We are all so quick to judge and by doing so, we miss the importance of things. I am sure many were disappointed when McCain lost, but consider the feeling of those that rejoiced when Obama won. For years we as a people have been oppressed and force to serve and go along with the leadership of unrightous leaders, but we survived by making the best of what we were given. Now the tide has turned and you should do the same and I say; if you can't accept Obama's leadership, don't reap the harvest of his labors as it is sure to come in great aboundance. To Obama,I say God bless and keep you and your family and I will be praying for your protection.

I am elated that Obama won. I never could stand Bush and shut him off every time he came on tv. now the country is in a new direction. we all need help. I am white and have a black grandson who now knows he could grow up he could be president.

Obamma is the hope we've been praying for. We should include him in our daily prayers to keep him safe from the evil elements and hate mongers. We finally have a man with a brain and grace to use it for good.
