A Prayer of Thanks

Wednesday November 25, 2009

For those of us Americans, we have much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving holiday.  For those readers in other countries, please join us in celebrating all that God has given us.  Here is a prayer for your consideration, today.

God,
We thank you for all the abundant blessings and gifts You have given us.
Please let the Light of Your love continue to burn bright in us today, as we thank You and celebrate You.
Keep showing us Your will and giving us the resources and strength to do what You want us to do.

Let us find the way to love one another by seeing You, God, in our family and neighbors.
As we go forward again this day, in this life, let us always remember You and Love You.
Amen.

At the end of the meal, I recommend a period of silent, faithful praise.  It's also really wonderful to listen to people's hopes and dreams for the coming year, readings from meaningful books, and beautiful music - all gathered around together.

I would so love to hear what your prayer, blessings, or grace is at your Thanksgiving table.  Please comment below.

That's not the way The Americans think, Mary, as you know. The eurasian minority population of The USA is becoming more the sore spot in The American Hemisphere than it's EVER been, and The Americans NEVER though like eurasians. It would also help if you could spell what you are properly... eurasian.

Curious...you sir, are an idiot.

You took someone's kind and happy comment, and turned it into an argument.

Just so you know, we're all human, and American/Eurasian means NOTHING.

Stop starting crap for no reason, try having a happy Thanksgiving, and keeping your smart mouth shut.

Reference: Curious This Reality and your offensive comments. I whole-heartedly agree with Doctor Chumley's Prayer of Thanks, along with Mary and Ben's comments. Doctor Norris Chumley is a compassionate Christian and provides us with enduring messages of hope, love, Christ-like thoughts, and American philosophy. "Curious This Reality" ... your comments are unwelcomed, condescending, and critical. Why must you create conflict and chaos during thanksgiving? You are showing yourself to be an extremist in every regard and thankful for nothing! If you're in America and not grateful to be in this great land of opportunity, you need to change your disgusting attitude. We do NOT need you here; we have enough like you here already! Go to another country and you won't have the advantages of living in America. Prayers and genuine thanks are welcomed in this country any country. I wish blessings to everyone for a Happy Thanksgiving; I am extremely proud to be an American for freedom and a sovereign Nation!!! God Bless America!!!
