I volunteer at the Harry Chapin Food Bank. Moving the boxes and sorting the food adds to my exercise routine and I lose wieght while helping others. It also promotes healthy thoughts of gratitude because it reinforces that regardless of how bad things are right now for me, they could always be worse.
Great article! I just finished reading 21 healthy habits and I find it, as well as other similar articles posted on Beliefnet, really empowering and helpful. Add a dose of Dr. Norris' wisdom = a great day!
I just laughed, sang, walked, enjoyed my coffee and read great advice @ Beliefnet: Thank you for sharing with us!
I usually find a project at home or do the walk at our church gym. I try to do some volunteering also. Sometimes, though it does not involve walking or using my muscles. I do care calling or the farmer's market in season. I am not able to do the socializing like most people since I don't work anymore. I find that most of the mental and physical things have to do with doing for others in our church community groups. I helped clean a couple's home during a crisis when their loved ones passed away. I've also done volunteer work for nursing field like the ones at a local hospital. I may call them again since I really enjoyed helping out and being part of that scene again. Thanks for the lovely thoughts. Nancy.
EXERCISE is really important. Doing Cardio with Strength Training = to Loss of Fat and increase in Strength. (Because Cardio alone will just make the body have loose skin everywhere, but by incorporating Strength Training then the results are of a lean Toned Body.)( Plyometric exercises are very good, they don't require weights.)
MEAL Planning is essential to not gaining Fat. Planning a day ahead is good, now planning a week ahead is best for all meals. Diet could be compare to religion, it forces one to be a certain way which is not what we we're intended to do. A Diet sounds like one has to starve themselves, but with a great meal plan, eating five times a day is what actually works for the body to really lose fat. AND its all in PORTION SIZE MEALS so REMEMBER PORTION and HEALTHY MEALS is KEY to Achieving a Healthy Body.
DEDICATION Is For Ever. I Don't say I'll dedicate myself to JESUS on Sundays only and that’s it, NO, its I dedicate myself to JESUS every single day Of my life. Go And Don't Sin Again = Go And Don't Eat Junk Food Again, Applies here. I WILL CARRY THE WORD OF GOD INTO ALL MY AFFIARS.
That’s why is going to take steps of faith to achieve the closeness with God. And the same applies to your health, it will take steps to achieve better Health, and stay Healthy.
Nobody becomes a Pastor by receiving Christ this past Sunday. The same goes, no one becomes Healthy by just exercising this past Monday.
So all this requires steps. First step is exercise, and then later on comes the next step eating right, but don't ever forget that the BIG step You ever make is Dedication to Our Lord and Savior JESUS CHRIST.
Because He Loves Me, I Love You
