Appetite allegedly grows and gets out of control during the Holidays. However, it isn’t appetite that grows, it’s the “thinking” mistakenly connected to appetite that grows and gets out of control.

Appetite is. We want an appetite.

But, when we let thoughts of body weight, holiday foods, diet, or lack of self-discipline, attach themselves to appetite, the situation grows into something uncontrollable.

Christ Jesus was attributed to say, “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness.”

Appetite is attached to right thinking.  Not food. Not diet. Not a human self-image.

So, we have the ability to dis-attach appetite from food and the Holidays. In other words, when the stomach, the cheesecake, or the ham dinner is yelling for attention, we can be detached.

We really can survive hunger pains.

We really can lose weight during the Holiday’s, is we need to.

We really can engage the spirit of the Holidays.

From 21st Century Science and Health, “Obsessions, selfishness, misleading appetites, hatred, fear, and lust give way to spirituality, and the superabundance of being is on the side of God, good.”
