Here are today’s dispatches from the crossroads of faith, media and culture.
1. Positive Vibes. Grammy-nominated musician John Tesh continues to build his radio portfolio. The host of the successful syndicated radio program Intelligence for Life is in the process of launching a new new online Christian radio station called K Tesh Los Angeles. Though in Southern California, the new venture will be available to listeners from across the USA and around the world.
Tesh’s long-running show Intelligence For Life garners about 14.5 million listeners and airs on more than 300 terrestrial radio stations in the U.S., Canada and the U.K. The show will be carried by the new online channel. Other programming will include Intelligence For Your Health, hosted by his wife Connie Sellecca (featuring interviews from notable medical doctors and nutritionists) and uplifting music from a variety of Christian artists.
Between his radio hosting, concert and recording successes, John Tesh is probably one of the most busy people in show business — and evidence of the public’s desire for positivity.

2. Paving the way toward religious understanding. Pave the Way Foundation founder Gary Krupp will deliver the commencement address to just over 400 students at Sparkill, NY-based St. Thomas Aquinas College this Friday (May 11) at 2 p.m. Krupp, a Jewish activist on behalf of interfaith bridge building, was actually knighted by Pope John Paul II in the year 2000 and has since been invited to the papal summer residence of Pope Benedict XVI. He is known for his staunch defense (indeed praise of) of Pope Pius XII’s actions during the period of the Jewish holocaust during the Nazi era. See The New York Times.
Mr. Krupp will also receive an Honorary Doctor of Commercial Science degree from the college. Additional honorary degree recipients include Richard F. Connolly (Doctor of Commercial Science), Ann Marie Connolly (Doctor of Pedagogy), John J. Ferguson (Doctor of Laws), Karen S. Ferguson (Doctor of Humane Letters) and Gary’s wife Meredith S. Krupp (Doctor of Humane Letters).
3. Congratulations October Baby! The micro-budgeted indie movie about the trek of a teenage abortion survivor to find her birth mother has crossed the $5 million mark at the box office.
