The first time I ever saw Ted Haggard was in a documentary. He was joking with a few evangelical boys about how great sex in the Christian marriage bed can be. Martin and I looked at each other, made a few admittedly snarky comments ala, “thou doth protest too much” and thought little of it. A few weeks later it hit the news that Haggard had been caught in a pretty salacious sex scandal. As we watched the news report we recalled the earlier conversation. Now, a few years later, Haggard is starting a new church, St. James. He describes it in this video as a church by broken people for broken people. He hopes to help others through difficult times with lessons learned from his difficult times.
