Brain Break: Music From Sand

Thursday February 19, 2009

It's 3:30 and my brain is soggy, but I was greatly boosted by this video of a guy who made a whole song by recording and mapping the harmonic tones of sand. As cool as it sounds. And relaxing too.

How beautiful!!! God has provided all things freely to enjoy. More doubt. More blessings to this very perceptive artist.

Absolutely beautiful.I have taught music for over 27 years and it has become a very strong part of my life. But you have taken it a step farther.I hope that you will continue your inventive, inspiring creativeness for years to come, and that you will be able to share it through CD's that we can all enjoy. Thank you so much for sharing this song with the world. We will be watching for more.

Hello, I just wanted to thank you all for your comments, it's great to see such enthusiasm and positive feedback. I'd like to create a CD with organic sounds, it's definitely encouraging to see your support : )
If you wish to listen to more of my music I have other tracks online that you might find interesting.

This is a song I wrote in a imaginary language: www.thechantofarianna.com
Another short track created from the noise of a little stapler: http://www.behance.net/Gallery/Music-From-a-Stapler/140956

How creative and beautiful !!! (I'd buy a CD like that if he came out with an album.) It would be good if music teachers and youth program leaders could use this to show youth how we can make music out of some of the simple things God gives us to work with.
