‘Yoga Is My Bailout’

posted by vreiss | 12:00pm Tuesday April 7, 2009

yoga_is_my_bailout_sale_bannerV2.gifI just stumbled across this great t-shirt for sale at YogaDork, a fun-looking blog. The shirt itself is $24, which might not feel so bailouty, but the message is free.

I am definitely keeping sane–if not flush @ NYC’s class rates–with yoga. It plugs me into that place that does not fluctuate. The tao over the dow, if you will. Or the downward dog over the downward dow… ok, sorry. But anyway, what’s your spiritual bailout plan? Yoga? Hot baths? Meditation? Fudge?

Waking Up to Your Dreams (by Wendy Schuman)
Are you a frustrated dreamer? I know I am. I often wake up with fragments of scenes echoing in my mind that seem really meaningful--but then I leap out of bed, start my morning routine, and in seconds they're gone. I want to linger in that realm and tap into the guidance and insight rising from a wi

Prayer for the Gulf from the 13 Grandmothers
Because I lack an engineering degree and don't understand why we can't just stop this thing NOW with a 10-ton wad of gum or giant boulder or massive Q-tip, I'll share more spiritual wisdom from elders. This is from the beautiful, amazing International Council of 13 Indigenous Grandmothers--they each

Fresh Morning: Worry Away the Worry
"Worry is a prayer for something you don't want." - Sharon Gannon I love that. The other day someone expressed concern about my excessive worrying habit, and I've been contemplating on it ever since. Doing my best to actually contemplate, rather than worry. I've been on a renewed Gilmore G

How Did You (or a Loved One) Heal from Cancer?
In addition to co-writing this blog and working at Beliefnet full-time, I'm writing a book. It's about how I got through cancer five years ago with a combination of heavy-duty Western meds and all I knew from my personal and journalistic experience of yoga, meditation, non-religious spirituality, an

Unfortunately sleeping is my main reconnect these days. Though in this moment I’m enjoying the God given joy that comes from appreciating how the yoga T looks on the lovely female form.

My joy comes from a childhood dream that never leaves me even in this
period of my life when i thought i am almost done inspite of the
stiffness and absence of my heart.God knows the desires of every heart,i believe this because my joy comes from someone that i thought
i can only find by visiting in my dream! My joy is not complete,it needs my corresponding action to make it a reality! It is not hard to
take the action, the hard part is i have work to do to accomplish this and time is short, that is the hard part. However,i follow where my
heart leads,i will do my best to meet the deadline because this is
how crucial the nature of my joy is,it is under time pressure!God
save us,i pray…i still believe in miracle that is in store for
those who desserve it!I shall receive God’s grace, because that grace
means my very life that i thought i will never find,I must admit,my
life depends on ever beat of my heart!

Oh no!I went way off the spiritual bailout question again, please
bear with me,i am not in my proper senses again.Okey disregard the
previous comment. This is my comment for spiritual bailout-Meditation,
prayer,yoga-i just do whatever is good, avoid to hurt anyone as well
as to myself.Everyday of my life,i shall thank the Lord, expect that
out of my situation, only good will come out and leave the things
than seem impossible for me to accomplish into the hands of my God
He is all knowing so i will put my trust and my life into His hands.
