I went vegan because of the horrific cruelty to animals of the meat, egg and dairy industries (I watched the video at www.Meat.org) but it's been SO good for my health - I'm stronger while losing unwanted fat, i have much more energy, my cholesterol is microscopic. I highly recommend it.

I went vegan just a few weeks ago. I did it mainly because of animal cruelty, but I have to say, physically, I've never felt better. I have so much more energy.

Thanks for posting, y'all. Those of you have gone vegan, how was the trasition? Did you pick up any good tricks or tips in the process? I have a freind who's going "veganish" right now and tha hardest part is eating out with non-vegan friends...

Valerie -- Thanks so much for the post about my book and the launch party. It was a lovely gift and a wonderful send-off. I'm so grateful that The Love-Powered Diet is out there for those who want what it has to offer. It's not for everybody: a little better diet and a little more exercise does it for some people who want to lose weight, but if you suffer with chronic, recurring compulsive eating as I did for nearly thirty years, the combination of a spiritual turnaround and a predominantly plant-based way of eating can be the miracle you've hoped for. I'm grateful for it every single day.
