How much sleep do you get every night? How much sleep do you need?
If there’s a major difference in the answers to those 2 questions, you might have an issue. But how do you even answer the “need” question?
Studies have shown that people who get between 6.5 and 7.5 hours per night live the longest, healthiest lives. Those who get choppy, varying sleep times from night to night are susceptible to everything from depression to obesity.
But some of us (and I include myself here) need a solid 8 to be chipper and, you know, functional in the morning. Which I chalk up into the “different bodies, different needs” category.
What are your sleep needs? What’s your sleep reality?
