Somewhat surprised to hear Dennis Kucinich speaking against the separation of “spiritual values” and state in yesterday’s Democratic debate, God-o-Meter did some digging and discovered that the Catholic Kucinich grew up studying the lives of the saints and Scripture in Latin. In 2004, The Christian Science Monitor called him possibly the “most overtly spiritual of the Democratic candidates.” Oh what a difference three years makes.

It seems to me that being "spiritual" rather than "religious" is more in the spirit of the founders' generation. Note that he does not specify any particular faith as a requirement; being spiritual is inclusive of non-Christian religions, agnosticism and even atheism if you're willing to stretch the definition to include a secular notion of morality under the umbrella of "spirit".
As far as I am aware, Catholics are more likely, as individuals, than other Christians to disagree with conservative dictates of their governing body. For example, many Catholics use contraception, the ease of annulment makes the official policy on divorce a joke, and the most conservative of Catholics (the so-called Sedevacantists) are in violation of church doctrine by rejecting as heretical the policies of Vatican II.
Kucinich seems to be a reasonably liberal and enlightened Catholic open to the idea of religious pluralism. I'm much more inclined to trust a politician who promotes spiritual values as opposed to "biblical" values or values specific to one religion or denomination.
Hmmm, I think that Nunuv has summed it up nicely. Separation of spirit and state is not the same as separation of chruch and state. Dennis strikes me as much more secular than your rating and, therefore, a more qualified candidate from my own point of view.
Read his book, listen to his words, listen to his wife speak, then decide what kind of country, what kind of world you want. I learned that I want what the Kucinich's want. He is wise beyond and it is sad that America is not. I will still vote for him because I vote my beliefs, not who I think others will vote for.
Dennis Kucinich has it right, folks - he's the ONLY ONE who has been right across the board of the things that matter - the war of profit in Iraq, the Corporatocracy that runs our government, the absurd and obscene spending of the U.S. on our number one industry - war, the importance of alternate energy sources, being pro-labor, etc.
And he's right about spiritual values, too - it strikes me that there is a paucity of spiritual values in our government right now, no matter how "religious" it has become.
In fact, the more "religious" our government has claimed to be, the less spiritual it has been.
