Dobson & Co. Mull 3rd-Party Candidate

Monday October 1, 2007

Categories: Rudy Giuliani

As January's Iowa caucuses inch ever closer, Focus on the Family's James Dobson is in takedown mode. Just over a week ago, God-o-Meter watched him throw a wet blanket on Fred Thompson. This weekend, he reportedly drove 600 miles from Focus's Colorado Springs headquarters to Salt Lake City to promote the idea that the Christian Right should consider pushing a third-party candidate at a top-secret gathering of conservative Christian activists. Dobson and others promoted the plan as a contingency should the pro-choice, pro-gay rights Rudy Giuliani clinch the GOP presidential nomination. Sure, polls show rank-and-file evangelicals backing Giuliani for the moment. But Dobson may be looking to teach the GOP a lesson on Election Day 2008 by dampening evangelical turnout enough to deprive Giuliani of the White House. And God-o-Meter has learned that Dobson wasn't the only VIP at this weekend's conservative confab in Salt Lake. Mitt Romney showed up, too, trying to capitalize on continuing evangelical disillusionment over the GOP field by making another pitch for their support.

If there is a third party, we would be cutting off our nose to spite our face. Hillary is a Secular Progressive and supported by George Soros who supports the ACLU. Please don't be foolish. This country would be harmed and who wins then?

With or without this Third party,Hillary is going to win anyway. Her and Obama will make a strong team.
The new party may however wake the republican party up to the reality that AMERICANS DO NOT TRUST THEM because they follwed President Bush into a current inwhich they could not swim.It may take 30-40 years for the GOP to recover.

If Giuliani, Romney, or McCain win the nomination for the Republicans, I will vote third party. Both parties in the two party system use fear of the opposition to extort votes they don't deserve.

By voting against the Republicans in 2008 I intend to make it clear that if they do not represent my values, they do not get my vote. After all, if I would be so willing to sell out my own values, why should those trying to win my vote have any regard for it? The only wasted vote is one that doesn't reflect what you actually believe.

Dobson and his RR chronies are hopefully worried. That is great!

The RR and their "choise" who is currently in office have totally ruined this country.

However IF they actually get the money, a candidate etc. to do this, they will throw the vote to the democrates. So all in all, that could be a win for the country.

No chance I'd vote Republican even if that was the only candidate. No use for them at all.
