God-o-Meter caught up with Fred Thompson and his wife Jeri at various South Carolina events this week and has cobbled together this Q&A from a few separate exchanges. God-o-Meter has lots more to say about the Thompsons' answers--and will--but it...

Once the voters know the records of the candidates they will have no question in their minds who is the only conservative in the race.

We must vote on the principles that created this great republic and secure our freedom by choosing our own governance.

See http://www.fred08.com to see all the many real and honest answers Fred is providing and then go to the following link to see the records of the others;

"GOM: In an interview with Beliefnet, Mike Huckabee said that your approach to leaving the question of abortion to the states would be as immoral as leaving the issue of slavery to the states during the Civil War…

FT: You have to go back and check—Governor Huckabee said that it ought to be left up to the states pretty consistently up until he started running for president. You ought to check on that. You ought to do a little research on that and when he says things like that ask him when he changed his mind."

Fred's right. He's been portrayed as the lazy candidate. And maybe he is compared to the others, but the press are deserving of that adjective as well. The journalists are letting Huckabee get away with this criticism and not even bothering to ask Huckabee why he swtiched his position. And to make matters worse Huckabee's own website says he "AWLWAYS" favored an amendment which is NOT true. I noticed it a while back and blogged about it. But it is sad that the larger media outlets just take the lazy way and don't even bother to do substantive investigative jouranlism any more. If you want the quotes with links to Huckabee's flip-flop on the life amendment you can find it here

"When you say “radical right” today, I think of these moneymaking ventures by fellows like Pat Robertson and others who are trying to take the Republican Party and make a religious organization out of it. If that ever happens, kiss politics goodbye."

This interview underscores what Fred Thompson is about - he is running on the simple notion that he is the best candidate for the office. He is not attacking anyone else. He is not defaming anyone else. He is not pandering to the idiocy of self-righteous "Christians" - who exhibit less of Christ than those that claim they don't know Him at all. He is not pandering to the left-wing extremists that run the popular media. He is being what he is.

Lazy? Not a chance. A man with a new family running for President is anything but. He is not glitzy, he is not for sale, he is just being what he is. A leader, a sensible man, and a candidate for the Presidency.

I don't know if he will get elected, but if he is not, then America has lost an opportunity to have leadership without all the political garbage that we have been complaining about for years. If Fred is not elected, next time I hear someone complain about self-serving Washington bureaucrats, I will tell them to shut up because they didn't support the antidote, and deserve what they get.

Fred Thompson is the antidote to Washington corruption.

Thompson's right about Huckabee's abortion position changing. Huckabee was interviewed by John Hawkins and stated it then. I posted it on Reformed Chicks if you haven't seen it.

Fred is the only one making the point - dont SAY you are a Christian ACT like one! That Huckabee is clearly pandering to the Christian right (of which I am one), is like seeing a snake oil salesman go to work on the crowd or these televangelists preach who have no Spirit of God in them but are all about that almighty dollar they want you to give. So sickening it makes me want to puke. I have always despised those who use their Christianity as a shield to dupe people from their true intentions and Huckabee, tho he may be Christian, he has NOT ACTED like a conservative.

I'm sorry but when, whatever criteria you are using places Fred Thompson as more secularist that Hillary or Barack Obama, then it's a meaningless scale. How in the world can the atrocious evil both Hillary and Obama endorse, not factor against whatever meaningless religious homilies they toss out as naive voters?

The scale really is about what they say not what they do.

If Fred Thompson continues with this type of compaigning then he may very well loose. Most of the american voters are not inteeligent enough nor knowledgable enough to make the right decsion based on the facts. He can be a leader, not the Washington machine, he is who he is and believes he has what this country needs. As for the other candidates and some of the renowned religous supporters, It is an abomniable sin to to teach the word of God or what is right or wrong to others if not done by the word of God. Straight talk is what we need not political pandering to any group. Most of the issues being brought up are old hat, I believe if we let God guide us the right candidate can get in office.

I ask that you all please remember to pray for our leaders and pray for Fred Thompson and his sweet family. How can you look at those faces and be so hard-hearted? These are people much like all of us. Which of us is perfect in our faith? What is clear to me from reading about his background is that he is a wonderful man who adores his family. Senator Thompson suffered a terrible blow when his adult daughter, Betsy, died and nearly gave up on government. Whatever your politics, you need to be made aware that he is working for all of us, to protect our freedom of religion. Separation of Church and State is one of the most important freedoms in this country and he may be our ONLY presidential candidate who understands that.

Please vote for this great man who will not pander to anyone. He will either say what he believes in or will tell you that he can't answer the question. He will not make things up on the spot. He will not claim that the Constitution needs to be aligned with the word of God. He will not tell you what you want to hear about the Confederate Flag just to pander. He will not reverse himself on the illegal immigration in the middle of the campaign without a word of explanation.

Fred has credibility because he has always told the truth. The truth is that he wants limited Federal Government and respect for the Constitution. He does want a strong military in a world where evil forces are aligned against the United States of America. He doesn't want Israel destroyed by Iran and has what it takes to prevent this terrible event from occurring.

Don't trust those who will tell you anything you want to hear just as soon as they can figure it out. Trust the next President of the United States, Fred Thompson.

What a hideous, un-American graphic...the "God-o-Meter?"

Fred is running for President and is the strongest defender of the Constitution, which includes freedom of religion, running. He's prolife, too.

For shame!
