In Fla., Evangelicals Split Three ways

Tuesday January 29, 2008

Categories: Mike Huckabee

huckabee13.bmpCNN just called Florida for John McCain, but something else is also clear now: Huck's commanding lead among evangelicals, which carried him to victory in Iowa less than one month ago--has evaporated. According to exit polls, four in ten Floridians voting in the GOP primary were evangelical. Here's how they voted: 30-percent for Huck, 30-percent for Romney; 28-percent for McCain. God-o-Meter sees this as a loss for Huckabee and a victory for Romney and McCain.

It's a sad day in politics when Huckabee is less of a theocrat than Romney and as much of a theocrat as McCain :-)

I think it's VERY telling that not a single Republican candidate rates any "higher" than an "8" on the theocrat meter today.

Maybe they're finally realizing America is not a theocracy and Americans aren't voting for a pastor, they're voting for a President.

The God-o-Meter (pronounced Gah-DOM-meter) scientifically measures factors such as rate of God-talk, effectiveness—saying God wants a capital gains tax cut doesn't guarantee a high rating—and other top-secret criteria (Actually, the adjustment criteria are here).
