Obama Stops By Another Evangelical Church

Sunday January 27, 2008

Categories: Barack Obama

obama7.jpgBarack Obama spoke this morning at the Harvest Cathedral, an evangelical church in Macon, Georgia. You can read a spirited local debate about his appearance here. In God-o-Meter's humble opinion, it's these kinds of appearances, matched with Hillary Clinton's reluctance to appear as frequently before evangelical audiences or to talk to the evangelical press, that helps explain why Obama trounced her among frequent churchgoers in yesterday's South Carolina primary.

If it wasn't for such a heavy EARLY voting done in Florida, Obama would've been the winner in Florida following recent events that only just happened. I pray for our country that we are blessed with a leader such as Obama. Hilary is more open to giving freedom to illegal immigrants. I experencied this, as a woman, while living up North. ALL our forefathers had to struggle and earn the right to be an American. I pray we will NOT let our country fall to such plunders.

Regarding our opionion of others: the bible says that we are NOT to judge anyone. GOD is the ONLY one who is to judge us. AMEN

The Bible may talk about gay sex acts, but it says nothing about BEING gay. As a gay Christian, I know about Jude intimately. And Leviticus, Romans, 1Corinthians, etc. Obama is my candidate. His Christian faith, like mine, is about love. He has acknowledged in several interviews that any church or religion that dissaproves of homosexuality has every right to, but that no church should decide to enforce it's point of view one everyone via government. Exactly the opposite of Huckabee, who has said the Constitution should conform to "God's standard". No government that uses Scripture to enslave or harm or degrade anyone's humanity is following "God's standard." "He that does not love does not know God, for God is love." (1John 4:8)
