The AP just reported that culture warrior Gary Bauer has endorsed John McCain. Anyone else notice how Bauer has been playing good cop to his buddy James Dobson's bad cop all through this election cycle? When Dobson dissed Fred Thompson last year, Bauer made positive noises about the Tennessee senator. And now that Dobson has denounced McCain, Bauer is coming to his defense. Bauer, more political activist than religious leader, is clearly concerned about the Christian Right being frozen out of a McCain administration.
