Clinton’s Questions for God

posted by dgilgoff | 8:12am Wednesday April 30, 2008

hillary.jpgThe Brody File has tapes from an interview Hillary Clinton did after this month’s Compassion Forum that was broadcast to churches in the week after the event.
An excerpt from the transcript:

When you stand before God, what might a question be that you’ll ask Him?
“I have so many questions. I am insatiably curious about every part of the Bible. Why God did certain things or didn’t do certain things so there would be a lot to choose from there. I would ask how could a loving God have let so much despair, suffering and pain be part of the human experience? What were you teaching us? What were you modeling for us? We know that you had your son suffer excruciatingly and he died for us and I can’t thank you enough for that gift but so many people who seem so innocent have also suffered so much. Was there any point at which you thought you could perhaps just you know, reach out and just lessen it a little or did you expect us to do that? Was that our job? Is that what we were called to do with the gifts that you gave onto us?”

On The Religious Left, Great Expectations
The first priorities for Barack Obama's administration will be the economy and a variety of foreign policy issues. But the burgeoning religious left, which worked so hard to get Obama elected, expects some movement on its issues, including a robust White House office of faith-based initiatives, pove

Howard Dean's Vindication
God-o-Meter wrote a piece for today's Roll Call on the vindication of Democratic National Committee chairman Howard Dean's much-derided 50-State Strategy, which is largely about reaching out to the nation's more religious voters in the red states: Years before Barack Obama showed that a liberal Demo

A Post-Election Chat with Ralph Reed
Amid today's talk that Barack Obama has narrowed the God Gap, God-o-Meter checked in with Ralph Reed, who spearheaded religious outreach for George W. More Innacurate Faith Storylines From the Media
God-o-Meter is struck by the number of faith-based storylines the news media appear to have gotten dead wrong this year. Neo,
Are you being serious? Hillary’s Clinton’s religious life has been the subject of entire books, including God and Hillary Clinton: A Spiritual Life by Paul Kengor, a conservative author.
The Clinton campaign has long been circulating Clinton’s faith resume.
Even ex-Bush speechwriter (and well-known evangelical) Michael Gerson has acknowledged the important role of religion in Clinton’s life.
My question to you is since when was Hillary not religious?

Those are some great questions that she is asking, and it would be nice to hear the Religious Right Hillary-bashers asking God the same things, rather than blindly believing everything the Bible says without thinking about it or questioning it.

I am curious as well. Why did God allow the Democratic National Convention to black out Hillary Clinton’s internet groups? Why did God allow the DNC so much power to be able to act as rulers of the people and decide for them who should be able to have their voices heard? New Hampshire’s Primary was early and their Primary was waived by the DNC. Michigan went early and the DNC punished them by telling the candidates to take their names off our ballot and to take half our delegates away. Now who is going to pay the taxpayers taxes. Will the DNC pay our taxes because if we don’t have representation from our state we do not have to pay taxes to any government. Half is not enough. Hillary Clinton will have to take this to the Credentialing Committee and the voters of the State of Michigan will most likely begin a class action law suit against the DNC and the Democratic Party.
