Let the Wright Ads Begin

posted by dgilgoff | 9:49am Wednesday April 23, 2008

obamawright.jpgThe Rev. Jeremiah Wright controversy has blown over, and Obama survived more or less unscathed, right? Not exactly. As God-o-Meter has said, the worst is yet to come for Obama, as Republicans and their allies begin turning video of Wright’s most incendiary sermons into campaign commercials for the general election. That process has now officially begun.
NBC is reporting that the North Carolina Republican Party is launching an ad that knocks two Democratic gubernatorial candidates for backing Obama on the premise that candidates should be judged by the company that their prominent backers keep.
Sound far fetched, given the few degrees separation here? Imagine what the GOP will do with Obama himself during the general. In the meantime, Obama will have to contend with these this first Wright ad, given that North Carolina hosts the next Democratic primary.
Here’s the report from NBC’s First Read:

The GOP goes there…: This morning, NBC/NJ’s Carrie Dann reports, the North Carolina GOP will unveil a 30-second ad that attacks Democratic gubernatorial candidates Beverly Perdue and Richard Moore for their endorsements of Obama. The ad, per the party, will reference “controversial figures from Barack Obama’s past” and raise the question of the candidates’ “judgment” in supporting him. The ad will be unveiled at an 11:00 am press conference. So far, the Democratic gubernatorial campaigns say that they have not yet seen it and declined to comment before knowing the content. But it’s anticipated by Democratic bigs in the state that the Rev. Jeremiah Wright will play a starring role.

On The Religious Left, Great Expectations
The first priorities for Barack Obama's administration will be the economy and a variety of foreign policy issues. God-o-Meter wrote a piece for today's Roll Call on the vindication of Democratic National Committee chairman Howard Dean's much-derided 50-State Strategy, which is largely about reaching out to the nation's more religious voters in the red states: Years before Barack Obama showed that a liberal Demo

More Innacurate Faith Storylines From the Media
God-o-Meter is struck by the number of faith-based storylines the news media appear to have gotten dead wrong this year. Coters remember the “swift boat” Ads and they won’t be fooled again. We are angry with the smear and slamder of the political system and will revolt against it.
The party that uses these tactics the most will lose the most votes, count om it. It hurt Romney, Clinton and a few others early on and it will make or brake the election in Nov.

The swift boat ads worked and worked well and all the whining of the Democrats won’t stop that style from working again.
Apparently they do not understand that the purpose of advertising is not to persuade the undecided. It is to bring out the base, to get them willing to go out and vote, or donate money or preferrably vote. That is why negative ads work even though people say they don’t like them. The swift boat ads were extremely successful because they got the Democrats so mad that the Republican voters got mad at the Democrats, as well as reminding the millions of men who had the good sense to avoid Vietnam why they despise Vietnam veterans.
By the time November comes, the swift boat campaign will seem like love bites compared to what the Republicans will be using.

Rev. Wright should disappear and let Obama campaign in peace. If he were half decent he wouldn’t put himself in the limelight. This isn’t about him and he is trying to hurt Obama.

Obama will still prevail because he is a true Christian who forgives the fallacies of other Christians. Obama is a good man and only the most ignorant and perverse see him otherwise.

God is the ONLY one that may pass judgement and judge us of our sins.
Now to discuss morality?! I beleive some people really need to read and listen to the interviews of our fellow politicians. Some of us back people who flat out lied; “snipper fire?” Then give out a shamless plug to stating that it was correct in her book! It makes you think that someone can remember 10 years ago better that 40 years with there grandfather story.
Now to McCain, this is a great example of a Christen? This is that same person whom will have you to believe that the economie is doing well. The same person who thinks that it’s all homeowners faults for losing their homes they have been in for the past 10 to 20 years, yet foreclosures are rising, gas and food prices are up, but over ONE MILLION Americans are out of WORK!!! Companies outsourcing to other countries. Have you looked at your clothes, food, and other items lables? NOT ONE, will say MADE IN AMERICA!!!
Obama, forget the nonesence the media and candidates try to make as an issue and stick to discussing the real issues. Let the others dwell on stupidity.
