Rev. Wright to Keynote NAACP Event

Thursday April 10, 2008

Categories: Barack Obama

wright17.jpgSo far as God-o-Meter is aware, Jeremiah Wright's remarks at the 53rd Annual Fight for Freedom Fund dinner of the NAACP's Detroit branch on April 27 will be his first publicly since the uproar over his sermons began a month ago. AP has the brief. Will he be combative or conciliatory?

A week or so ago, this column asked if the Wright thing had been overdone and the general concensus is that it was. Now we get three more posts - in a row - about "Obama's pastor".

Give it a rest wouldja? There aren't supposed to be ANY religious tests to hold public office in America, let alone for the pastors of those who would hold office. Talk about overkill. Isn't the huge lack of comments here indication enough that people really don't give a sh!t?

Well, that should be good for another five states in the Republican camp come November.

The God-o-Meter (pronounced Gah-DOM-meter) scientifically measures factors such as rate of God-talk, effectiveness—saying God wants a capital gains tax cut doesn't guarantee a high rating—and other top-secret criteria (Actually, the adjustment criteria are here).
