The New Wright/Obama Ad

posted by dgilgoff | 11:35am Wednesday April 23, 2008

Watch it Here:According to TIME, the McCain campaign has strongly rejected the ad in a statement:

John McCain strongly rejects this ad and the type of politics that degrades our civics. From the beginning of this process McCain has expressed his intent to run a respectful campaign based on the issues, and we have repeatedly called for all parties to follow his lead.

But doesn’t McCain still stand to benefit from these types of ads? Not to mention Hillary Clinton, who faces Obama in North Carolina’s May 6 primary.6

On The Religious Left, Great Expectations
The first priorities for Barack Obama's administration will be the economy and a variety of foreign policy issues. But the burgeoning religious left, which worked so hard to get Obama elected, expects some movement on its issues, including a robust White House office of faith-based initiatives, pove

Howard Dean's Vindication
God-o-Meter wrote a piece for today's Roll Call on the vindication of Democratic National Committee chairman Howard Dean's much-derided 50-State Strategy, which is largely about reaching out to the nation's more religious voters in the red states: Years before Barack Obama showed that a liberal Demo

A Post-Election Chat with Ralph Reed
Amid today's talk that Barack Obama has narrowed the God Gap, God-o-Meter checked in with Ralph Reed, who spearheaded religious outreach for George W. More Innacurate Faith Storylines From the Media
God-o-Meter is struck by the number of faith-based storylines the news media appear to have gotten dead wrong this year. One was the line that Obama was poised to make big gains among white votes, especially evangelicals, who were undergoing a generational shift in their political thinking and reexa

Evil in any politics will bring about a bad ending. Look at Bush. A person can win on honesty and good character. Why does evil have to prevail. Do it God’s way for a change.

The problem with smear campaigns is that to spread the mud you have to get your hands dirty. McCain doesn’t want the mud on his hands, he will reject this type of politics, hopefully.

First and foremost I find the add quite distasteful and very desturbing. It angers me to see how people take words out of context or only ‘hear’ the words that they want to ‘hear.’ Obama has already defended himself and the Reverend Wright has defended himself. I say take a good long listen to the hour and half long sermon. Ask those who states ‘you can not chose your family, but you can chose pastors.’ I’m sorry does this person even go to church? Who is your pastor Senator Clinton? The media cannot find anything else to TRY to discredit Obama, you have to fight his pastor? Talk about being an AMERICAN, built on the christen faith? hillary Clinton flat out lied about her trip and was allowed to brush her comment under the table. Now to you WXII12; I find that your backing of a down right RACIST ad just shows how North Carolina is still living in the ‘back woods’ on the diversity of America is still as racist today as back in the 1960′s and 1970′s. Boycott your station? I think so!!!
