First Rev. Jeremiah Wright's public appearances were cancelled. Now his church's web site has been cleaned up. Kind of Soviet, right? Given Wright's love of the spotlight, God-o-Meter has a hard time believing that this attempted clean up is a result of him and his church acting on their own. How big a role, if any, is Obama playing in the effort? God-o-Meter will do its best to find out. Sure, the campaign wants to move on from the Wright controversy. But an elaborate effort to silence his pastor and give the church--or even just its web site--a facelift would come off as pretty cynical for a supposedly straight-talking candidate, no?

For those interested in a more balanced and honest view of Rev. Wright and that church, you can go to You Tube and see 75 other clips that the right wing smear machine didn't see fit to post.
As Mike Huckabee said, let's cut this man a little slack. The clip of Huckabee saying that can also be found there. If you take from 30 years of sermons, and carefully clip out the 2 minutes of foolishness , you can make just about anyone look bad.
Of course, if you're just interested in a politically motivated hatchet job, stick around. It seems the bearing of false witness is no longer a sin; more like a job description for some people.
