Meet Rod Parsley

Friday May 9, 2008

Categories: John McCain
Mother Jones has assembled some highlights from the anti-Muslim screeds of Rev. Rod Parsley, who's been tagged as John McCain's answer to Jeremiah Wright. McCain's defenders respond that Parsley, who has campaigned with McCain and whom McCain praised as "one...

Parsley is an idiot. So is McBush.

Parsley is barely a garnish on the entree of religion. He simply proves himself to be a self-deluded fool. All he wants is an audience. I expect that once the press - bored with constant McCain/McBlah - will glom onto this nerfherder and make a whole salad out of him. Added to it McBlah's wife hesitation to reveal her financial records, we should be treated to a week of McCain on a spit. That has GOT to be better than this weekend of beating the Bush daughter's wedding into our weary eyes.

Look - this guy is a loose cannon who needs to get stuffed. McBlah would do well to completely disassociate himself from him.

These attacks will do little to hurt McClain for two reasons.

1) People don't care if you say outrageous things about Islam because they want to have a common enemy and Islam is a convenient target. After all Islamics caused 9-11, didn't they?
2) 13% of the people in America think that Obama is Islamic and that he is anti-American while McClain is "White, Right and All-American" and therefor the only choice.

Also, you recall that the radical Rev. Hagee has had little effect on McCain even though he puts Roman Catholics in the same group as Islamics.

People react to what they want to hear, not the truth.

P. Shires - This is all sad, but true. I think Obama has a lot to do to craft the image he wants people to know. He is doing well, so far - but he will need to do a lot better to counter the bizarro stuff that the "swift-boaters" are sure to throw up (as in "regurgitate").

Parsley is wrong on his brand of religion, this "word of faith" nonsense. But he is historically accurate about Islam and Muslims. It is not Parsley's fault that most Americans are ignorant about the history of Islam, or downright brainwahed by the tolerance and diversity hordes teaching our youth a bunch of PC bull---. Islam was begun by a an angelic vistor - the Angel Gabriel - giving Mohammad a different version of history than that of the Hebrew/Israelite prophets in the Torah. That is not something that Parsely is incorrect about. Islam has been a violent way of life since Mohammad slaughtered and subjugated the inhabitants of Mecca. Westerners better wakeup soon to the insanity being taught far more by secularists than by whacky preachers like Parsley. Or, they better learn how to speak, read and write exclusively in Arabic. Or die. Let the truth not be subjugated.

I don't get how people can insist that Obama is "closer" to Wright than McCain to these bigots. Belonging to a church is like belonging to a family or community. For a lot of people, the idea of leaving a family or a community just because some members, or even one of its leaders, say things you don't agree with is totally nonsensical.

On the other hand, a political campaign is ALL ABOUT picking and choosing your allies and seeking their endorsements directly. McCain has actively sought out the blessings of these guys SPECIFICALLY, despite knowing what their political and theological positions are. In this sense, it seems quite obvious that McCain should come off worse here than Obama.

Intellectual, emotive arguements are entertaining. If you however, want to get to the truth you must deal with facts. Read the Quran. Just read it and then factually argue that Muslims are not taught from childhood to hate the Jews (they call Pigs and Monkeys) and Israel (Israel must be destroyed and restored to the Muslims - they beleive). Or what about the passage that every man will one day be made to bow the knee to Mohammad or suffer death by the sword (cutting off of head). Or maybe you could just do a little research on the many years of hate, and violence by the Muslims against Israel and the West.
