Family Research Council Action Shocked and Elated Over Palin

Friday August 29, 2008

Categories: John McCain

palin4.jpgGod-o-Meter just hung up with Connie Mackey, senior vice president of Family Research Council Action, who is absolutely thrilled at McCain picking Palin.

She was also totally stunned.

I know that a bunch of conservatives had pushed her name, but with sincere doubts that it would happen. Needless to say I'm surpised and thrilled.

Mackey worked for Pat Buchanan's 1996 Republican campaign, when Palin was a big Alaska Buchananite. "That gives me double assurance that we've got a good person," Mackey says.

Mackey was assured still further about McCain by her time spent this week in St. Paul, where the Republican Party adopted what she calls the most conservative platform ever on issues like abortion and embryonic stem cell research (the proposed platform includes a total ban).

"You know how politics works--you don't usually get it all," Mackey said, her smile nearly visible through the phone.

Finally, after countless stumbles, McCain has hit it out of the park with the conservative Christian establishment.

Well, she certainly has the beauty queen wave down. And what's up with the Valley Girl voice? Cares about her kids? Yeah, no doubt, but who's going to watch and care for them when on the campaign trail? Sheesh, what a cynical blunder. Well, this 50+ white woman isn't falling for it. Period.

Glory be to God that finally we have a solid, conservative Christian Vice-Presidential candidate. As a mother who has lost three babies through no fault of my own, I have zero tolerance for abortion and consider it murder and brutality in its worst form. May we as evangelical Christians stand for righteousness and particularly when we enter the voting booth. I believe God holds us accountable for our voting record and expects us to support those who will do His bidding when in office. May God's will prevail in this election.

By the way, I'm a person of color, a pastor in a predominately white denomination, and I DON'T support Obama!

Hmmm...Well, let me see if I got this right...You are all for family values...which I reckon would be equivalent to "family first"? Yet, paradoxically, you are totally behind Sarah Palin leaving home to run for office... this mother of five children, who will be taking the 4-month old baby off the breast(I do believe most 4 month olds are still breast feeding?) so she can hit the campaign trail, and leave the desperate, unmarried, 17 year old pregnant daughter to fend for herself ...well OK, maybe dad can help her thru the pregnancy. Now that's what I call 'family values!' Go figure!
