McCain's selection of Sarah Palin hasn't made white religious voters any more likey to support him, at least not yet, Gallup reports.
But religious whites were already supporting him by a more two-to-one margin over Barack Obama--the same margin that George W. Bush enjoyed over John Kerry--for months now.
Again, God-o-Meter asks: what does Barack Obama have to show for his unprecedented values voter offensive?

RE: "We, my husband and I are registered Republicans and will be changing our status"
illogical commentary - downright goofy interpetation. The Bible indicates we have choice, because of the ability to accept or reject what God instructs us to do. But it is clear that God has explicit expectation and judgments for those who go against His directions.
Legislating morality is exactly the PRIMARY purpose of law - From God and from human government. DUH!!! When God says believe in His Son's sacrifice from a Christian perspective, there is clearly defined legislation in the Law of Christ describing the results of making either choice - Yes or No. The New Covenant is an unconditional contract and it is based explicitly on the Law of Christ -- and it doesn't matter where a person has the LAW written in terms of what is expected. And when a human government says that it is against the law to murder and rape your neighbor's children, that again is legislating morality. Or isn't that clear to you. Your point seems to say we should neither have the law nor take a stand on it!! Your understanding of the Bible is wildy fallacious in application -- and frankly goofy.
Re: We, my husband and I are registered Republicans and will be changing our status
Well said Ralph. I dont understand your reasoning Lucia? The bible is full of laws. But nevermind the Bible, our lives are governed by laws daily! Murder is illeagle yet people continue to choose to murder. Should we legalize murder? Rape? You make no sense whatsoever and I seriously doubt your sincerity. You are probably a liberal trying to look like a republican that is switching.
Here's the problem: you people want to thrust "your" god down "our" throats. I want you to take you bible and read it, live by it and leave the rest of us alone...
I can't seriously get all shakey over your morose feelings of doom. And, yeah, religion is just one big set of laws after another, or rules, same difference. Apparently, some of you want to live by them, and others want to just quote them endlessly. Tiringly so!
Thank you Lucia. There is no way that the world can be changed by having one set of faith standards imposed on others through legislation. Yes, there are basic rights/laws that are espoused in our Bill of Rights but even those have been interpreted in various ways which have led to having to have the Supreme Court make decisions. As a born again believer in Jesus Christ I am tired of the Religious Right and the Republican Party coming into the Christian church to get us to vote their way. I don't plan to let them use me ever. I don't plan to go along with them expecting me as a Christian woman to elect an unqualified and poorly veted woman as VP just because she's a Christian and a woman. I think that my time as a Christian is better spent helping the poor and needy, supporting and caring for orphans and widows, and making sure that children are in homes that protect them. So that is why I cannot support the Republican Party because their issues are not those issues.
Christian conduct is big in my book. The behaviors that the Republican party is demonstrating is horrible and contrary to God's word. It's not gracious, it's devisive, not honest and they don't represent peace, love or any of the main tenets in the Word of God.
So you don't believe in abortion (murder) - Well you murder someone with your words... is that better??? I think not.
Another blogger had it right... God must be grieved.
