On The Religious Left, Great Expectations
The first priorities for Barack Obama's administration will be the economy and a variety of foreign policy issues. But the burgeoning religious left, which worked so hard to get Obama elected, expects some movement on its issues, including a robust White House office of faith-based initiatives, pove

Howard Dean's Vindication
God-o-Meter wrote a piece for today's Roll Call on the vindication of Democratic National Committee chairman Howard Dean's much-derided 50-State Strategy, which is largely about reaching out to the nation's more religious voters in the red states:
Years before Barack Obama showed that a liberal Demo

A Post-Election Chat with Ralph Reed
Amid today's talk that Barack Obama has narrowed the God Gap, God-o-Meter checked in with Ralph Reed, who spearheaded religious outreach for George W. Bush's 2000 and 2004 campaigns and who pioneered such outreach for Republicans as executive director of the Christian Coalition.
What surprised you i

More Innacurate Faith Storylines From the Media
God-o-Meter is struck by the number of faith-based storylines the news media appear to have gotten dead wrong this year.
One was the line that Obama was poised to make big gains among white votes, especially evangelicals, who were undergoing a generational shift in their political thinking and reexa

“Making a case for how to reduce demand for reducing abortion without criminalizing it.”
Dough Kmiec’s attempt to do this is exactly like trying to reduce slavery without criminalizing it.
In 1857 the U.S. Supreme Court decided the Dred Scott Decision. By a 7-2 vote it ruled that black people were not “legal persons,” that they were the property of the slave owner, who was granted the basic constitutional right to own a slave. Abolitionists protested, to be met with this answer: “We understand you oppose slavery and find it morally offensive. That is your privilege. You don’t have to own a slave if you don’t want to. But, don’t impose your morality on the slave owner. He has the constitutionally protected right to choose to own a slave.”
It is insane, but if ideas like those of Dough Kmiec had succeeded Senator Obama wouldn’t even be allowed to vote.
The travesty of the Obama campaign (a Saul Alinsky Trojan Horse) + a partisan Media are unparalleled.
I suggest you go, register to vote and VOTE for the only candidates (Mc Cain and Palin) who believe that ALL individuals are equal.

“All individuals are created equal”, eh?
The only way to STOP abortion is to criminalize it. Well now – we know that has never worked.
If all individuals are created equal then that ‘equality’ extends to those who bear the responsibility of an unexpected, unplanned or an otherwise unforeseen pregnancy. That means the responsibility does not lie solely with women, as is so overwhelmingly the case now – regardless of the gains made with respect to women’s rights.
I would NEVER vote for the McCain/Palin ticket – NEVER. Credibility goes beyond one issue and being a ‘christian’ doesn’t automatically ensure my vote. In fact, it generally raises a flag when someone finds it necessary to characterize themselves as such.

It is not about religion…
…I will never vote for those who beleive some human individuals are sub-humans.
That is all.

Who believes some human individuals are subhumans?

“Who believes some human individuals are subhumans?”
Answer: All those who by their vote or their actions deny the Right to Life (and therefore to ALL the rest of ALL posible rights) to Human Embryos and Fetuses.
In this election only ONE ticket supports that ALL individuals are equal.

Well…. I don’t agree at all with your ‘answer.’
The ticket you speak of supporting aren’t worthy of my vote because they’ve repeatedly have demonstrated why – thus far this week, and especially over the past two weeks. We disagree and it’s probably best to leave it there.

I disagree with you and we’ll just leave it there.

LOL! A pro-Obama and PRO LIFE Web Site??!
What the hell? That is like McCain supporting a measure to RAISE TAXES.
These Matthew 25 people are insane. What has politics become? Obama does not want to pass any legislation banning abortion. HE TOTALLY supports the right. All he says are that “people as individuals…..” should be against it. It is simply being POLITICALLY CORRECT.
This is really sad. Some Christian group supporting Obama off of the PRO-LIFE platform. These people are so confused, why don’t you just vote for Bill Clinton. Just write him in, and act like he’s running. This is essentially the same as Voting For OBAMA because of PRO-LIFE standards. How retarded. You should have picked McCain. OBAMA is in no way PRO-LIFE. Let’s watch politics become something it is not….
Wow…sad. People no longer vote on the issues and believe what the site’s groups say. Let’s be pro-life but be for abortion at the same time.

Actually, the point that the website is trying to make is that Obama, although he is pro-choice, would INDIRECTLY help to reduce abortions by having programs that aid those who are most likely to get abortions. People with secure jobs and good educations are less likely to get an abortion than people who feel that they have no other choice.
The idea is not to tackle the effect, abortion, but rather the cause- unwanted pregnancies. Why are pregnancies unwanted? How can they be prevented? How can people feel that they have other choices besides abortion?
Answer those questions and you’ll have a better solution than attempting to ban abortion all together, which would not make people believe in it any more than they do now.
