From CNN's Political Ticker:
While in Colorado Springs, the Alaska governor sat down for an interview with influential "Focus on the Family" founder James Dobson, who has long been critical of McCain but said in August that the selection of Palin as the Arizona senator's running mate makes him more likely to vote for the GOP ticket.
No word yet on when the interview will air. Can Palin rally enough of the GOP's conservative Christian base to compensate for Obama's increasing popularity among independents? The math doesn't seem to be there, but a surge in evangelical turnout could help Palin's stock in future elections. If the middle collapses for McCain, however, will Palin be seen as having narrowcasted herself as a Christian candidate, just like Huckabee did during the primaries? That could do major damage to her future presidential prospects.

John,
Are you aware that the folks who passed that judgement on Gov. Palin were partisan. It was politically motivated. Even so, the best they could come up with was that she "abused her power" by not putting enough pressure on her husband to get him to stop pursuing the trooper who tasered a boy and threatened their family.
Meanwhile, Obama is so pro-abortion that he doesn't even want survivors of botched abortion to receive care. Now that is not a family value.

Mon,
Understand this one thing: NO ONE is "pro-abortion".
That is pure delusion.
I have never, in all my 57 years, ever once heard someone say, "Ya know, I think abortion is a GOOD thing. Every woman should have one."
To be pro-choice means to leave the decison whether or not to carry a fetus to term to the woman and her doctor - and NOT have the government (or YOU) tell her, "You MUST have this baby."
How come we celebrate birthdays and not conceptiondays?
P.S. Dobson is a bully and not a very nice person. His words and his actions are so mean-spirited they could never be considered "Christian" or loving or even charitable. You DO remember that "the greatest of these is charity", don't you?
recovering ex-Pentecostal,
Such short-sightedness is common with the party you have aligned yourself with. You say you'd prefer give a woman the right to choose - nothing wrong with that. Who, though, will choose for the unborn baby. IS IT YOU who decides what stage of life is truly valuable?
Not too long ago a man by the name of Adolf Hitler decided that those who were unable to physically compete with the majority (e.g., those with disabilities, children and elderly) were no longer worthy of life. He soon extinguished an estimated six-million precious lives that failed to meet HIS standard of life-worthiness.
If you carry your argument out to it's logical conclusion, you will find that it is lacking. A better argument for you would be: "I truly believe in a woman's right to choose. She should be able to extinguish a child's life up to any age whereby she is responsible for that child. The government should not be able to infringe upon one's right to choose". That position would truly be arguable for someone concerned about government intervention in a persons right to choose (I myself believe in a limited government).
Furthermore, your [Democratic] party talks from both sides of its mouth. First it claims a stance against government intervention in a person's right to choose -- such a noble cause. With the very next breath, the opposite view is taken, wanting complete government intervention in issues with health-care and finance. The truth is that a majority of those that are "pro-abortion" are truly "anti-christian" and seek to do anything to attack (and destroy) the principles of those claiming to follow Jesus [Christ].
Life is sacred. Black life, white life, asian and middle-eastern; young and old; intelligent and non-intelligent. Choice, too, is sacred; however, we need to make sure that the choice of all persons is accounted for and represented in all decisions affecting life, and an individual's well-being.

I believe peace begins in our mouths..you are using inflammatory language..Stop it! No one is pro-abortion. Grow up, start working for what is right, not what is wrong...also use credible sources. I researched your link...The woman is not respected and is known for extravagant stories.
And Palin was found guilty of ethics violations....research it in her hometown newspapers.
I am an evangelical Christian, a frequent listener to Dr. Dobson's radio program and a member of his internet mailing list. I received Dr. Dobson's "vote your values" email and wrote a response, an excerpt of which I'd like to share with you:
"Last week I received an email from Dr. James Dobson – whose internet ministry I subscribe to – imploring me to “vote my values,” meaning to vote for the candidate whose “pro-life” and pro traditional marriage rhetoric carried Dr. Dobson’s stamp of approval. My immediate thought was: Why should I vote two of my values to the exclusion of all others? In that question lies the problem of the Christian allegiance to the Republican Party."
