Verse of the Day: "Good News"

When John heard in prison what the Messiah was doing, he sent word by his disciples and said to him, "Are you the one who is to come, or are we to wait for another?" Jesus answered them, "Go and tell John what you hear and see: the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the poor have good news brought to them. And blessed is anyone who takes no offense at me."

- Matthew 11:1-6

And the ACLU sued that this story about Jesus not be read in any public place, while not lifting a finger to aid John in his death sentence conviction, without a trial even.
The Progressives said "That is someones interpretation," of what Jesus may or may not have said. Since Jesus didn't mention homosexuality as a disease (as did Psychiatry, until they too were sued), the Progressives claim, and let's make this clear . . . we have to hold that he didn't mean it and them. The Liberals said, this wasn't to be applied only to Jesus, what Jesus said, but anyone with a peaceful message could apply the things Jesus said about Himself to any good and benevolent teacher. Therefore John could look anywhere at any other person in history.
Americans United for Seperation of Church and State took great offense at what Jesus said. They want it made clear that this story can never be spoken of in any school anyhwhere. Liberal Theologians attacked the veracity of the story altogether, as a great Right Wing conspiracy, because Jesus is declaring far too much about some kind of special nature that He and He alone seems to hold. Etc., etc., etc., etc..

And the conservatives sold magnets for their chariots that said "Free John," and then promptly cut funding for the public-aid lawyer assigned to his case so the Procurator and Emperor and their favored ones could enjoy a tax cut for the year. Meanwhile the Christians sold all that they had, pooled their money and took care of the least of these.

Deuteronomy 22: 28 If a man is caught in the act of raping a young woman who is not engaged, he must pay fifty pieces of silver to her father. 29 Then he must marry the young woman because he violated her, and he will never be allowed to divorce her
