Verse of the Day: Who Will Stand Up and Repair the Wall?

posted by gp_editor | 9:02am Friday June 29, 2007

The people of the land have practiced extortion and committed robbery; they have oppressed the poor and needy, and have extorted from the alien without redress. And I sought for anyone among them who would repair the wall and stand in the breach before me on behalf of the land, so that I would not destroy it; but I found no one.
- Ezekiel 22:29-30

Verse of the Day: 'peace to the far and the near'
I have seen their ways, but I will heal them; I will lead them and repay them with comfort, creating for their mourners the fruit of the lips. Wow, Ezekiel’s words ring hauntingly true for our own time, who will stand up and repair the wall? It must be us!

“The people of the land have practiced extortion and committed robbery”
- Ezekiel 22:29-30
How well that verse describes our government’s taxing policies, and those who support it.
According to Pete Sepp of the National Taxpayer’s Union, government now consumes 52.6% of the nation’s income, robbing people to pay for it’s spendaholic, unconstitutional policies. That means Tax Freedom Day is now July 11. How utterly sickening. Sadly, Democrats want even more taxation.
And, if you refuse to pay this tyrannical cost, the extortion begins, and the IRS and local tax thugs beat you bloody until you pay. Rule by robbers. America has become a kleptocracy, and Republicans support such government abuse of power.
Both parties stink to hell.
