Verse of the Day: The Kingdom of Heaven
"But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you lock people out of the kingdom of heaven. For you do not go in yourselves, and when others are going in, you stop them. Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you cross sea and land to make a single convert, and you make the new convert twice as much a child of hell as yourselves.
- Matthew 23:13-15

Now is a great time for that scripture!
Going on 3 millenia since Jesus spent 3 hrs on a cross, 3 days in a grave, 3 yrs preaching the kingdom of heaven is within reach, and still religion manages to hijack the good news and recrucify him every year rather than enter in. -And they convince the living they must die before they can enter!
The church calendar crowns Christ, King Jesus in November. The next Sunday, he's pushed back into the womb of a virgin, where he'll gestate 3 weeks before being born at the Vernal equinox. 3 months later, they recrucify him and smear the congregants with the blame.
I think if we see ourselves as wretches, we will speak wretched thoughts and do wretched things. Whereas, I want to be godly in this world, God so loved; therefore, it behooves us to realize we are God's image. We are responsible for being godly in this world so loved.
I don't think Christ would be keen on what religion keeps doing since it realized they can't kill ideas; which reminds me of what he told the religious authority of his day, "Not only do you not enter in yourselves, but you keep others out."
