Verse of the Day: 'What the law requires is written on their hearts'

When Gentiles, who do not possess the law, do instinctively what the law requires, these, though not having the law, are a law to themselves. They show that what the law requires is written on their hearts, to which their own conscience also bears witness; and their conflicting thoughts will accuse or perhaps excuse them on the day when, according to my gospel, God, through Jesus Christ, will judge the secret thoughts of all.

- Romans 2:14-16

This verse is a keystone of my faith. If Non Christians can live in the law of God, why is it so hard for Christians to do the same? What grief do we, how profess to love God and yet knowingly sin against Him, bring to the Father of Reconciliation?

May Jesus have Mercy upon us who are weak and live by the desires of the flesh rather than the Spirit.

Pray for Peace, Paul

Paul, you ask 'why is it so hard'...?

because the 'demands' of the Law can only be fully met/fulfilled through grace...
and grace is spoken of patronisingly as 'cheap grace' in many Christian circles, sadly...and not taught in much..
except for initial grace for salvation which is held high theologically, against 'works,' - but then we act and speak as if we have to live by law, [especially when speaking about others].
