Albert E Brumley 40th Annual Gospel Sing

40annualBrumleyGospelSing.jpgSouthern Gospel music lovers will gather Aug 6-9, 2008 to celebrate songwriter Albert E. Brumley at the 40th Annual Brumley Gospel Sing. The event will be held at the Cowan Civic Center in Lebanon, MO.

In his lifetime, Albert E. Brumley, who died in 1977 at 72, wrote more than 800 songs, including "I'll Meet You In The Morning," "If We Never Meet Again," "Turn Your Radio On," and "I'll Fly Away." His songs have been performed by artists from every genre, including Elvis, The Oak Ridge Boys, The Supremes, Ray Charles, Statler Brothers, and Roy Rogers and Dale Evans, and his music was featured in the hit movie, "O Brother Where Art Thou?" He was inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame, Oklahoma Hall Of Fame, and the Country Song Writers Hall of Fame.

More than 30 music artists and comedians are scheduled to perform at the 40th Annual Brumley Gospel Sing, including Jeff and Sheri Easter, the Blackwood Brothers, the Booth Brothers, Dixie Echoes, the Isaacs, the Chuck Wagon Gang, the Inspirations, the McKameys, and Aaron Wiburn.
