posted by Joanne Brokaw | 8:29am Wednesday July 16, 2008

Cindy Morgan ventures into new territory with her latest release, Beautiful Bird. The album is self-produced and being released only through digital formats on her website and via iTunes.Beautiful Bird returns Morgan to her Appalachian roots, with a mix of pop, Appalachia, Country, and symphonic. “I can’t choose the cello over the doboro,” she says, “so I wanted to make a record where they could live together.”"The wonderful thing about doing a record like this,” she says, “is that you throw the rule book out the window… it really leaves the creative spirit free to let each song and the record as a whole be what it is without boundaries that often squash the creative process.”Morgan has garnered eighteen #1 hits in her musical career, as well as several Dove Awards and Billboard Music Video Award nominations. Her songs have been recorded by luminaries such as Michael W. Smith, Point Of Grace, Avalon, Rachael Lampa, Brit Nicole, Mandisa, The Martins, Michael English, BeBe Winans, Sandi Patty, Jaci Velasquez, Mark Schultz, John Tesh, and Natalie Grant. In April she took home two more Dove Awards at the 39th Annual GMA Dove Awards, for Country Recorded Song of the Year (“How You Live”), recorded by Point of Grace, as well as the highest award that a Christian songwriter can receive, Songwriter of the Year.Beautiful Bird is available now by visiting Cindy Morgan’s website.
