Harvest Crusade continues after death of Christopher Laurie

posted by Joanne Brokaw | 9:40am Sunday August 3, 2008

HarvestCrusadeAnaheim08.JPGThe LA Times reports today that Greg Laurie will indeed preach at the upcoming Harvest Crusade scheduled for Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California, Aug 15-17.
Appearing at the festival will be Christian music artists Kutless, P.O.D., Leeland, The Katinas, Lincoln Brewster, and Randy Travis.
Christopher Laurie, who was killed in a car accident on July 24, was the church’s art director, and was responsible for designing the Harvest Crusade bumper stickers, posters, invitations and fliers as well as the Harvest website.
“I think it will be particularly poignant that Greg will be able to stand up and realize that those people were in those seats because they were given an invitation that Chris had designed,” pastor John Collins, the Harvest Crusade’s executive director, told the LA Times. “And some people will attend, he said, because they got the message that ‘life is brief and can be taken from us at any moment.’”
The stadium, which can hold 46,000, is expected to be filled to capacity each day of the three-day event, which is free.
For more information about Harvest Crusades, which are being held this year in Anaheim in August and Philadelphia and New York in October, visit the Harvest Crusade website.

I’m assuming that Christopher was Greg’s son. I don’t know anything about his family, but am praying for relief, strength & knowing God’s presence thru this mourning time. Though the pain is unbeleivable & comes at times unexpectedly, God’s deliverance is sure & I know from personal experience that HE IS ABLE to bring comfort & contentment when we are unable to provide that for ourselves. Take hold of the Word & our Creator’s promises to claim healing through this loss. Though there are tears at night, the Lord does bring joy in the morning…everlasting joy when we focus on Jesus. Lovingly in Christ, galewind, Read Revelation 21
