Hello all,
This is Mark Weber, Kingdom Bound’s publicist. I met with Donna Russo, Executive Director of the festival, this week, and have I got news for you!
Here are some tidbits of info you might like to know about KB09 coming up Aug 2-5:
1- KB’s talent search is now accepting submissions from Christian artists via sonicbids.com and May 15th is the deadline to enter; it costs $50 and you will have a song of yours heard by many people and voted on and the winner gets to play KB AND be part of an even larger competition to win a deal with Word Label Group.
2-There are several new “first timers” that are part of KB’s line-up this summer, incl. Natalie Grant, Family Force 5, Israel Houghton, Phil Joel (solo; he used to be part of the Newsboys), Francesca Battistelli, Laura Story…more TBA
3-Matthew West is coming back for the second year in a row
4-Jerry Gillis will be the keynote speaker on Sunday evening of the festival
5-Salvador will host a praise party on Sunday night in the PAC, while there will also be an Urban Worship night in the Pavilion area, too!
6-WDCX will have an expanded presence at KB this year, broadcasting Neil Boron Live from the Amped Tent M-T-W 3-6pm
7-Ryan Loos, a financial expert in the Dave Ramsey-style, will offer financial seminars
8-Hip-hop returns with artists like Michael Peace and Toronto’s Manafest at this year’s KB
9-There will be a “Singles Track” of seminars, including a lady talking about being a single parent as her topic
10-Brett Ullman from Canada returns to offer various seminars including one on “Cutting,” which so many teens are doing these days
11-Matthew Sleeth, author of “Serve God, Save The Planet,” will team up with his wife to talk about how they “went green” so for all of you who don’t think it’s possible to live a more environmentally-friendly lifestyle, don’t miss it
12-Monday night of KB 09 check out Mitch McVicker, Ceili Rain, and Matt Maher, hosted by Fr. Bill
13-Rick Cua and friends, aka “Blues Counsel,” will jam on Monday and Tuesday nights for 2 hours, so if you are a musician and appreciate cool jam sessions on hot summer nights, be there
14-May 26th will be Faith Night at the Bisons’ baseball game in Buffalo, with Relevant Worship performing
15-KB is presenting the Christian Musician Summit May 14-16 at The Chapel in suburban Buffalo, with expert musicians offering advice to local and regional worship leaders and musicians– there is a songwriter’s bootcamp, too
