Robbie Seay Band on One Tree Hill, and free download

posted by Joanne Brokaw | 9:26am Monday September 22, 2008

RobbieSeayBandGiveYourselfAway.jpgEver since we got our digital converter box I’ve been addicted the CW channel (and the additional PBS channels).
Last night, I was watching “One Tree Hill,” a show I never watch, but I was intrigued by the storyline in which a high school student dies. When the main characters go to visit the student’s mom, one says to her, “Your strength is inspiring.” The mom replies, “My strength comes from Jesus Christ.” Whoa.
Anyway, during the show I recognized one of the songs, and sure enough, at the end, they said it was Robbie Seay Band.

Robbie Seay Band is one of my favorite Christian music bands, and Robbie Seay was one of my favorite people to talk to at GMA. He has such a heart to love people and that comes through in his music and the ministry of his church, Ecclesia Church, in Houston.
The song that appeared in last night’s show was “Shine Your Light On Us,” from the album Give Yourself Away. You can buy the song at the One Tree Hill site.
Or you can have a free download of the song “Rise,” which is one of my favorites on the album, by visiting iTickets.
Robbie Seay Band heads out this fall on the Hope, Coffee & Melody Tour, with Chris Seay, Chris Taylor and Alli Rogers. For more about Robbie Seay Band, visit their website.

I visited Ecclesia a few years ago to meet with Chris Seay (the lead pastor and Robbie’s brother) and the rest of the leaders and it was one of the best meetings I have ever had. These are people who are incarnating the Gospel in their community and ministering through the arts (two things you know I love). Anyone in the Houston, TX area should check them out.
