Sanctus Real and Extreme Home Makeover raise $50,000 for family in need

SanctusReal.jpgBack in September, I told you about about concert that Ohio natives Sanctus Real performed in conjunction with ABC’s “Extreme Makeover Home Edition” to benefit the Frisch family.
The ticket-only show drew 5,000 people who rallied in support of the building project to take place that week. Among those in attendance was the cast of “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” who joined Sanctus Real on-stage during the band’s more than hour-long set.
“The beautiful thing about being a part of the ‘Extreme Makeover: Home Edition’ benefit concert was that we saw OUR community, OUR town, OUR home brought together like never before,” says Sanctus Real frontman Matt Hammitt. “There’s power when people are unified, and there’s a righteousness that’s unbridled when that force is molded to serve, love and sacrifice for the ‘greater good.’”
The guys in Sanctus Real are no strangers to helping their neighbors. They’ve donated time and money, and used their platform, to aid people both at home and in Africa.
The Frisch family episode is scheduled to air in November. For more information and show times, visit ABC.com.
Sanctus Real is currently on tour in support of their latest album, We Need Each Other. For more about the band, visit their website.

Your Name, well that stinks. I think what happens is they film a ton of stuff and then who knows what makes the cut. I’ve seen Christian artists like David Phelps make the cut; it’s not a lot of air time but it’s a mention anyway. Maybe Sanctus Real wasn’t a big enough name for them? Either way, I know the guys in the band, and I can assure you that they were 100% committed to doing a good show, helping the family and doing it whether they would be on TV or not.
Maybe we can get some video of the concert. Any readers who were there? Anyone? Bueller?

I work in a nursing home. We have a 62 yr old man, a double amputee who is learning to walk with prosthetics. His wife is home with M.S. He needs work done on their home which he can’t do. Their goal is to have the home fixed up so they can be together in it again after two and a half years. How can we help?
