In August I had the chance to experience Jon and his amazing ability to relax in a stressful situation. I became friends with Jon working at a Young Life camp in Michigan a few years back. My mom and I went to see him play in Des Moines, IA. About an hour before he was set to play we went to get some dinner with him and his wife. It was a beautiful night in Des Moines, and we decided to RELAX outside of an Italian restaurant. As we waited...and waited...and waited for our order my mom and I got nervous that Jon would not make it back to start the show on time. He seemed so relaxed, that we couldn't stress out. We got our food, ate extremely quickly, but were relaxed about the whole thing. We got back to the venue right before he was scheduled to play and he went on without a hitch. Jon played an AMAZING show, while my mom and I RELAXED in the crowd.

I am a single mom of an 11 year old boy named Evan. I also work with children who have mental and behavioral disabilities on a day in and day out basis either at work or at church. We just started a church program called FROG that is one night a week for 6 months. FROG stands for Fully Relying On God. We usually get about 150 or more kids from all backgrounds and walks of life. Believe it or not that is relaxing to me to hear these kids sing and sign words of praise and worship and talk about God. They memorize those memory verses and my heart soars. I do like to take walks in the fall with my headphones on and just either listen to worship tapes or 95.5 THE FISH and breath and wipe away all thoughts and worries that may have come up. In the summer we go swimming and he plays and I read. In the winter we play games and just laugh. Laughing can be so relaxing and my son is a born comedian and magician. I also listen to tapes of worship while I do my filing. If I know I am going to be at my desk for long periods of time I get THE FISH on line. That is my way of relaxing. And if chosen, I will proudly add you to my relaxation cd's. GOD BLESS!

The idea for the new album sounds intriguing. I should love to have a copy to help unwind and know GOD's love. Thank you, Nicole

Listening to music is a great way to relax, and when you combine music with nice weather and driving with the windows down, it’s hard to beat. I've also found that sometimes being relaxed is all about perspective, which it sounds like Jon is referring to when he talks about "sifting through what matters and what doesn't."
