Cast your fan favorite vote for Christian artists for the American Music Awards

posted by Joanne Brokaw | 9:58am Monday November 3, 2008

CastingCrowns.jpgVoting is open for the American Music Awards, which will take air on November 23 on ABC, and here’s your chance to vote for your favorite music artists.
The awards offer 20 categories for fans to cast their votes for favorite Pop/Rock, Country, R&B, Hip hop/Rap, Adult Contemporary and Contemporary Inspirational artists.

The Contemporary Inspirational nominess are the trinity of CCM: Casting Crowns (pictured), MercyMe and Third Day. All three of those bands are worthy of the win.
But you can also cast a vote for Christians who are mainstream artists, including Daughtry (Adult Contemporary and Pop/Rock Band/Duo/Group) and Jordin Sparks (Adult Contemporary). And I’d put Carrie Underwood (Country Album and Favorite Country Female Artist nominee) in the “Christians in mainstream music” category.
In non-fan voting, other artists with ties to Christian music include The Jonas Brothers and Paramore, both T-Mobile Breakthrough Artist nominees.
To cast your Fan Favorite AMA vote, visit http://abc.go.com/amavote/. Voting ends November 7.
