Christian music's Third Day wins American Music Award

Monday November 24, 2008

ThirdDay.jpgChristian music's Third Day took home the American Music Award last night for Contemporary Inspirational Artist, beating out Casting Crowns and MercyMe in the fan-voting category. Due to a non-stop touring schedule, the band was unable to attend the awards show.

Other artists with ties to Christian music who took home awards:
Daughtry won the Best Pop/Rock Band/Duo/Group award
Jordin Sparks won in the Adult Contemporary category
Jonas Brothers were named the T-Mobile Breakthrough Artist
Carrie Underwood won the award for Favorite Country Music Album

I didn't watch the awards show. I'd rather stick needles in my eyes than sit through even an hour of celebrities on parade.

But if you want all the details, head over the American Music Awards website.
