Casting Crowns was supposed to perform for President Bush last night, but instead the President was off to Iraq on a super secret trip.
According to the Associated Press, the White House put out a false schedule saying President Bush would attend the taping of the "Christmas in Washington concert," hosted by Dr. Phil and Robin McGraw, but instead he was off on a very hush hush trip to Bagdad. Casting Crowns appeared in concert last night, along with Kristin Chenoweth, Julianne Hough, Straight No Chaser and Darius Rucker for the taping of the show, which will premiere on TNT on Wednesday, Dec. 17.
Casting Crowns' lead vocalist Mark Hall took the last minute change in stride, joking, "We were secretly a part of this whole thing. See, we're the ruse for him to go on his mission. So I feel like, you know, a little Jack Bauer right now."
