Cool Hand Luke's new project and tour with My Epic

Wednesday January 7, 2009

CoolHandLukeSleepingHouse.jpgCool Hand Luke hit the road this month in support of their new project, The Sleeping House. They'll tour through the end of the month, hitting venues across the Southeast.

For the past year, Cool Hand Luke has been in a state of transition. Without a label or booking agent, the band held on to their indie beginnings and took the challenge with a DIY outlook. Now, it seems that everything is coming together. August 7 marked the tenth anniversary of the band's first show. Mark Nick got married on August 8th and turned 30 the next day. Now, the band is back to their original set up as a three piece, with Mark Nicks on vocals and drums, Casey McBride on bass and Joey Holman on guitars.

This is one of those bands that you have to love. They just do their thing and they don't care what the industry thinks about them. They connect intimately with their fans, so when they released The Sleeping House back in October, they had a potluck dinner and invited anyone who wanted to come to and then performed a free concert.
