Rev. Timothy Wright needs prayer

Saturday January 24, 2009

I know many of you have been following the progress of Rev. Timothy Wright as he recovers from the accident last July that took the lives of his wife and grandson. Rev. Wright suffered a C4 spinal cord injury.

I got an email from Mark Weber, over at Christian Music Daily, that said Rev. Wright has taken a turn for the worse. I contacted their family's spokesperson, who confirmed that Rev. Wright has been unresponsive for the past three days. He's currently in a VA hospital in the Bronx.

Rev. Wright had been receiving treatment at the Kessler Institute in NJ, and had most recently been off the respirator and able to move his neck and shoulders. He had been able to attend a benefit event in a wheelchair. His family had been hoping to bring him home in January.

I don't have any other details, but I know the family would ask for your prayers.

I am praying for Rev Timothy Wright and family. As children of God we know that nothing is too impossible for him to work out. We know that Jesus has the power to just speak the word and Rev Wright will rise up from that bed. We have to put the situation in God's hand and let him work it out because only his will can be done at this point. So lift up thine eyes unto the hills from which all our help comes from. The Wright family I pray that each and everyone of you be granted strength to go through this difficult time and that God will see you through. Amen

I AM THE SAINT THAT POSTED THE COMMENT ON MARCH 28, 2009 @ 6:47AM. I AM NOT SURE WHY MY NAME DID NOT APPEAR BUT I AM ALWAYS CHECKING THE LATEST UPDATE ON REV. TIMOTHY WRIGHT'S HEALTH. I AM IN PRAYER ALWAYS THAT GOD WILL SHOW UP IN A MIGHTY WAY. THIS PAST SATURDAY I WAS LISTENING TO ONE OF REV. WRIGHT'S CD: BEEN THERE DONE THAT AND MY SPIRIT WAS LIFTED SO THAT IT BROUGHT TEARS OF JOY TO MY EYES. REV. WRIGHT'S MUSIC IS SO POWERFUL THAT IT REACHES DEEP INTO THE SOUL AND ALLOWS GOD PRESENCE TO REIGN. AS A CHILD OF GOD I KNEW WHAT WAS HAPPENING TO ME. THERE IS ONLY ONE OTHER GOSPEL SINGER THAT HAS TOUCHED MY SOUL(WHEN I WAS ABOUT 12 YEARS OLD)THROUGH MUSIC AND THAT WAS MAHALIA JACKSON. NOW I KNOW WHY HE IS CALLED THE GODFATHER OF GOSPEL MUSIC. I WILL CONTINUE TO PRAY FOR STRENGTH FOR THE FAMILY. AMEN

I've been trying to get updates about Rev. Wright - for some reason I'm not on their list for updates. But I do know that he needs prayer and that his condition hasn't improved since he took a turn for the worse a couple of months ago.
