Gospel Dream, The Idol-esque Talent Show, Returns; Auditions Start April 1

posted by Joanne Brokaw | 11:06am Friday March 27, 2009

GospelDreamlogo.jpgThe Gospel Music Channel has announced that Gospel Dream, the Idol-esque singing competition, is back for a fourth season. The show airs beginning June 6 and culminates with the grand finale coronation of the new Gospel Dream winner on July 11.
“Gospel Dream is the original music reality competition on television that celebrates aspiring artists who desire to inspire, as well as to entertain,” says Charles Humbard, founder and president, Gospel Music Channel, in a press release.
Given the number of Christian contestants on this season of American Idol, it does beg the question: do we need a separate singing competition? Or should Christians be using their talents in the mainstream? What do you think?
Auditions for Gospel Dream will be held in nine cities, starting April 1:
The cities and dates scheduled for Gospel Dream auditions are:

  • April 1: Seattle – Northwest University Chapel – 5520 108th Ave. NE Kirkland, WA 98033

  • April 10: Dallas – Open Door City Church – Harwood Plaza, 8421 Boulevard 26 N. Richland Hills, TX 76180

Is it possible for a college senior to audition by either sending a CD or by auditioning online? Traveling at this time of year would be difficult. Has extreme talent and wants to glorify God.

I, too, am a college student in Northern California, who wants nothing more than to lift His name up and inspire others. I’m the lead vocalist at my church and sing at others around my area. How can I audition without being able to make it in person? I have a C.D. Can I send it in somewhere????

The best thing to do is to go right to the Gospel Dream website and see what they say about auditions. I’m sure it’s in person only; that’s just the way reality TV works. But it’s worth asking them.

IF YOU GOT TO WHERE U ARE JUDGES BYE PUTTING AN ACT LIKE YOUR TRYING TO MAKE THEM DO YOU NEED TO TAKE THE CHAIR YOU TELL THEM TO SIT IN AND SIT AND ASK GOD WHAT YOUR DOING WRONG.ENCOURGAGE THE BROTHEREN YOU ARE NOT AMERICAN IDOL SO DONT BE CONFORMED TO THIS WORLD.
