American Idol Top 7 Perform (Again, and I Missed it)

posted by Joanne Brokaw | 9:10pm Tuesday April 21, 2009

As you know, I’m in Nashville this week for Gospel Music Week. That means that Idol comes on at 7 pm where I am, so I wasn’t able to watch the show because I was at the Centricity dinner and showcase (awesome, can’t wait to tell you about it). I did catch the wrap up at the end – wow, Adam and Kris look liked they really outdid themselves.
But I’m counting on you to fill me in! Tell me about tonight’s show!!

The X Factor final performances - care to predict a winner?
Tonight was the final performance episode of this first season of The X Factor in the US, and what a way to end the competition. The three finalists - Josh Krajcik, Chris Rene, and Melanie Amaro - pulled out all of the stops for their final performances. First, each performed a duet with a star,

Jon Bon Jovi is not dead. Honest.
Rock fans and women around the world are breathing a collective sigh of relief: Jon Bon Jovi is not dead. Despite rumors of his demise, the charming rock legend is alive and well. It appears to have started with a fake blog post reporting that Bon Jovi suffered cardiac arrest. However at a

The X Factor final four results: Marcus goes home
On tonight's The X Factor results show, Melanie Amaro, Josh Krajcik and Chris Rene went through to the next round and Marcus Canty was sent home. OK, OK, I know, I know. I 've been hard on Marcus Canty the last few weeks, so you may be thinking that I'm happy he went home tonight. I wasn't happy

The X Factor final 5 results - Nicole refuses to make a decision, Rachel goes home, and Marcus gets yet another chance
If last week was a tough week for X Factor Nicole Scherzinger after she voted to send home Drew, this week might be downright dangerous. No surprises for me. Everyone performed as I would expect. Adam was his brilliant self as usual. Danny Gokey wasn’t the most innovative singer, but he was good as usual. Kris and Allison were great. I really don’t expect the pecking order to change that much.

If I were to guess – I’d think Lil, Matt and Anoop would be in the bottom three.
I loved what Kris did with “She Works Hard for the Money.” The judges referenced Santana – but the opening chords on the guitar were exactly the same chords and rhythm one of my favorite Doobie Bros. song… (What the People Need, Is a Way to Make Them Smile (1st line)) so I was hooked from the first strum…
Adam was amazing – but for me – I’ll never forget his rendition of “Mad World” as my most fav.
Anoop, (in my opinion) has waited too long to find a “look”… and showing up with a grungdy face and finally out of his frat boy jackets, is too little too late….
Matt’s “Stayin’ Alive” was such a big production number that his vocals seemed to get swallowed up.

I WAS COMPLETELY UNPREPARED TOO
I ALWAYS VISIT YOUR BLOG EVERY TUESDAY TO KNOW WHAT IS HAPPENING IN AMERICAN IDOL BECAUSE IS THE ONLY WAY I HAVE. SO WHEN I VISITED IT THE LAST NIGHT I WAS COMPLETELY SHOCK WHEN I READ YOUR POST AND KNEW THAT I WOULD MISS THE INFORMATION, SO I HAD TO WAIT FOR TODAY AND GET SOME INFORMATION ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED.
BUT TODAY I SAW THE PERFOMANCES AND I THINK ADAM, ALLISON AND KRIS WERE GREAT LIKE ALWAYS (OR MAYBE THE MOST PART OF THE TIME) AND I THINK LIL AND ANOOP WOULD BE IN THE BOTTOM THREE. LIL SHOULD BE VOTED OFF

Ben, I’m so sorry!!! I rushed back to my hotel room and was able to catch the final recap. And last night, I was stuck at JFK delayed for hours. My husband gave me the updates via cell phone but I didn’t know till I got home that Anoop was the second one voted off.
I’ll be back live next week, I PROMISE! :)

Canyayasis – I am SOOOO sorry! LOL I had planned to find someone to actually post for me, but the no one was up for it, and then I got sidetracked with GMA prep. I didn’t expect to not have easy access to wifi so I couldn’t even let you know till after the show. I met with Mandisa on Tuesday and hoped we could catch the show together but she has to Tivo it and watch later. (She’s rooting for Danny.)
I have to admit, tho, that I’m glad to know that people are actually reading, LOL!! I’ll be back next week, I promise.
