Cooking With Christian Music: Ben & Karyn Utecht's Recipe For Teriyaki Steak & Brown Rice

Here's the second installment of our Cooking with Christian Music weekly feature: a quick and easy recipe forTeriyaki Steak & Brown Rice from NFL Superbowl Champ new recording artist Ben Utecht (tight end for the Cincinnati Bengals) and his wife, Karyn.

Karyn says, "We love this meal because it is healthful, but not labor intensive. So, when the football season is in full-swing, we're busy, and Ben needs complex carbohydrates, good protein and lots of nutrients... this meal is a perfect fit." ("Dare I call it a touchdown?" she adds with a laugh. Yup, it's a touchdown!)

American Idol Update: The Controversy Is Settled

USA Today reports that while in fact a handful of AT&T employees did bring cell phones to parties celebrating American Idol's Kris Allen, even if there was voting going on it wouldn't have made a difference in the outcome of the show.

American Idol Controversy: Did AT&T Really Influence The Vote?

For the past week, Adam Lambert fans have been, if I can be honest, acting like very sore losers over last week's win by Kris Allen on season of American Idol. They've been complaining that viewers who cast votes for Kris Allen did so because they're homophobic, tone deaf, stupid, and possibly cheaters.

As far as the first three go, my response is: get over it. I'm sick and tired of the mentality that is rampant in American that uses any excuse, including a television show, to fuel a gay/Christian debate. It's asinine. Get over it.

As for cheating? Well, there might be something to that the charges of voting irregularity. Maybe. A BIG maybe.

American Idol winner Kris Allen will perform today on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. If you can't catch the show, here's a little preview video of Kris singing Heartless and the American Idol single, "No Boundaries." It's much better acoustic. If anyone could make that stupid song sound halfway decent, it was Kris Allen.
