An Update From Decyfer Down

posted by Joanne Brokaw | 5:58am Monday June 8, 2009

VictoriaandJoshOliver.jpgThe past couple of months have been a roller coaster for rock band Decyfer Down.
First, the band would like to thank you for your prayers.
On April 21, guitarist Chris Clonts and his wife Meghan welcomed their son Christopher Hayden Clonts into the world. Shortly after Christopher’s birth, Meghan became extremely ill and the doctors found she had a severe infection. After three weeks in quarantine (away from her newborn!), Meghan was treated and released from the hospital and is now home, happy and healthy with her husband and son.
And I know many of you have also been praying for drummer Josh and Victoria Oliver. The day after Meghan was released from the hospital, Victoria received the devastating news that she was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma cancer. Thankfully, the doctors caught it early enough so that it didn’t spread to any other parts of her body. But the soft-ball sized tumor is located between her lungs and heart, leaving the doctors are unable to operate. Victoria has started chemotherapy treatments for a period of 18 weeks.
Making matters even more difficult, she was denied health insurance coverage because her condition was classified as a pre-existing condition. Hospital bills are already up to $40,000, and a fund has been set up help pay for her treatments, which expect to cost about $120,000. If you’d like to help, checks can be mailed to:
Victoria’s Victory
4514-302 Tesla Park Dr.
Wilmington, NC 2841
You can learn more at Victoria’s Victory website.
The band is grateful for your prayers!
