Hawk Nelson & Toms Shoes Providing Shoes To Needy Kids in Haiti

posted by Joanne Brokaw | 8:59am Tuesday June 23, 2009

HawkNelsonballoon.jpgIn their continuing efforts to help those in need, Hawk Nelson has committed to providing 5,000 pair of shoes to children in Haiti through Toms Shoes and the company’s “One for One” philosophy.
For every pair of shoes purchased, Toms Shoes donates a pair of shoes to a child in need in a developing country. In 2006, the organization’s debut year, they provided 70,000 pair of shoes to children in Argentina and South Africa.
So to help reach their goal, this July Hawk Nelson will be hosting six “Style your Sole” with Toms Shoes, doing live in-store appearances in cities where the band is playing this summer. The guys are encouraging fans to be one of the first 100 fans to buy a pair of Toms Shoes and personally meet the band and get autographs. During the “Style your Sole” fans can purchase a pair of Toms Shoes and decorate them to create a customized pair of shoes.
Last fall, the guys launched their One Little Miracle campaign, urging fans to step out of their comfort zones to change the world. The band has an ongoing involvement in the Hands and Feet Oprhanage in Haiti and visited the orphanage last summer, purchasing a van from proceeds raised during their spring 08 tour.
