Embassy Music Talent Search Deadline August 7

posted by Joanne Brokaw | 10:03am Thursday July 9, 2009

Embassy Music has announced a deadline of August 7 for artists and songwriters to register for the 15th Annual Ultimate Talent Search competition. The event will be held September 5, 2009 at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee.
Over the years, Embassy Music’s talent search has helped launch artists and songwriters in various musical genres.
The Embassy Music Ultimate Talent Search and Seminars is where worship artist Leeland was discovered when he was just 14. Through their artist development program, Embassy Music helped Leeland land a publishing deal with EMI and a record deal with the Provident Label Group. In addition to sharing the front cover of CCM Magazine with Michael W. Smith and helping write several of the songs on his Stand CD, Leeland toured with Third Day and completed a 36-city tour with Grammy Award-winning artist Casting Crowns. He went on to earn a Grammy nomination in 2009 for Best Pop Contemporary Gospel Album for his work on Opposite Way as well as numerous Dove Award nominations.

Two of Embassy’s recent talent search finalists are also quickly gaining national attention. Robert Mauti is currently in the final 10 in the “Gospel Dream” competition on the Gospel Music Channel. Mauti’s new self-titled debut was produced by two-time Dove Award winner, Kene Bell and features John Katina (lead singer for The Katinas) and Dove Award-winning vocal sensation, Rachel Lampa. Mauti is also a member of the popular multi-cultural Soul Choir, and has sung backup for Amy Grant, Point of Grace, Bill Gaither, Matt Redman, and Chris Tomlin.
Another Embassy Music prodigy, Brandon Green, made the top 50 on Season 7 of “American Idol” and is currently in the top 10 pairings on the new season of the “Can You Duet?” TV show, broadcast on CMT (Country Music Television). One of the upcoming episodes will feature the song “Loving You,” which Green and Mauti co-wrote.
“We’ve seen enormous successes these past few years,” says Embassy Music president Darwin Moody. “We’re very excited to see the wonderful doors that have opened recently for Brandon and Robert. We’re also looking forward to hearing the new talent during Labor Day Weekend.”
The Embassy Music Ultimate Talent Search offers open competition for both artists and songwriters and will award separate prizes for the winners of those two categories. Winners will have the opportunity to perform for industry professionals at a New Artist Showcase as well as be awarded artist development and songwriting mentoring sessions.
Embassy Music specializes in discovering and developing new artists and songwriters. The Ultimate Talent Search has opened doors for artists and songwriters to connect with managers, booking agents, publishers, and radio promoters as well as recording contracts with labels such as Gotee, Virgin and Provident.
