GMA announces 2010 line up of events

posted by Joanne Brokaw | 11:01am Monday November 30, 2009

GMAlogo.jpgWell, it’s official! GMA Week is on!
The Gospel Music Association recently announced that GMA Week, the Dove Awards, and GMA’s Immerse Week will all happen in 2010.
Given some of the recent rumors there was a question if these three big GMA events would be able to take place; I’m happy to see they are.
According to the press release, GMA Dove Week 2010 has been restructured. The event will kick off Monday, April 19 with the ASCAP Christian Music Awards; the week will also include an Artist Summit and the BMI Christian Music Awards and will culminate in the 41st Annual GMA Dove Awards to be held on Wednesday, April 21. According to the release, additional details are forthcoming.
GMA’s Immerse will return to Belmont University July 28-31, 2010. Immerse will bring together artists, songwriters, musicians, worship leaders, music business students, industry experts and more in a celebration of music and learning.
Note this change: Events traditionally reserved for Gospel Music Week, such as the highly successful Songwriters’ Showcase and Evening Worship Service, will be available to Immerse attendees as well as concerts from top Christian artists. Additional information to follow in the coming months.
Which means no songwriters’ showcase at GMA. Figures. It’s one of the few showcases I ever go to!
We’ll see what kind of events will happen during GMA as we get closer. For now, if these are events you want to attend, you can start making plans!
