For a full play-by-play of last night’s American Idol Season 9 auditions in Atlanta, you can read my live blog post.
But here’s a recap of some of the contestants who went through to the Hollywood round (and one who didn’t but you’ll remember anyway):

Jermaine Sellers – 26 year old from Joliet, IL; finished third in 2007 on BET’s Gospel competition, “Sunday Best”; toured for a year and a half with pop artist Monica; Jermaine’s MySpace page says he’s “working on a new show with BET called 106 & Park Generation Gospel”; cares for his mother, who suffers from spina bifida;

Vanessa Wolfe – 19 year old from Vonore, TN; loves jumping from bridges; works in fast food; captured the hearts of viewers when she explained that her life in Vonore is leading nowhere and she feels trapped; sings country and could be a dark horse in the competition, if she can overcome her nerves
Holly Harden (aka Guitar Girl) – 20 year old from Rockmart, GA; came to the auditions dressed as a human guitar; has auditioned for numerous talent shows (her MySpace said 9 as of August 2008), including Season 3 of “America’s Got Talent” where she made it to Las Vegas but was cut before the Top 60; Holly Hardin’s MySpace page
Mallorie Haley – 20 year old from Winner, SD; actually lives in Nashville, TN now; her resume ranges from the National Anthem at the Texas Rangers baseball games to opening shows for Kenny Rogers, George Jones, Crystal Gayle, Chris Ledoux, Linda Davis, Kenny Chesney, Montgomery Gentry, Pam Tillis, Trace Adkins, Dierks Bentley; Mallorie Haley’s MySpace page
Antonio Wheeler (aka Skii Bo Ski) – calls himself Skii Bo Ski (still not sure what that means); was allegedly arrested in 2005 on drug charges; those charges were later dropped
Carmen Turner – 19 year old college student from Baxley, GA; auditioned with her BFF Forever, Lauren Sander; mentioned to judges that her name is Carmella; I’m not positive but I think she was crowned the Miss Tree Fest Winner at the 2009 Miss Tree Fest in Baxley-Appling County, GA;
Brian Walker – 25 year old from Sevierville, TN nicknamed “The Singing Police Officer”;
Keia Johnson – 26 year old marketing rep from Memphis; won Miss Congeniality in a Miss American competition; lovely personality
Miriam Lemnouni – we only got to see a quick clip of Miriam, but she’s definitely one to watch; the 25 year old from Atlanta is into horses but her website and MySpace are already down
Noel Reese – 16 year old from Sophia, SC
Tisha Holland – 18 year old from Riverdale, CA
And the final audition of Atlanta:
General Larry Platt – 62 year old veteran who sang his song, “Pants On The Ground”:
Pants on the ground, pants on the ground
Lookin’ like a fool with your pants on the ground
With the gold in your mouth, hat turned sideways
Pants hit the ground, call yourself a cool cat, lookin’ like a fool
Walkin’ downtown with your pants on the ground. Giddy-up!
Hey, get your pants off the ground. Lookin’ like a fool
Walkin’, talkin’ with your pants on the ground. Giddy-up!
Hey, get your pants off the ground. Lookin’ like a fool with your pants on the ground
